Books Just Get Better And Better

Image result for everything everythingThis book is called Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. This book is about a girl named Madison Whittier. The problem is that she's been sick her entire life, so sick to the point where if she goes outside, she could possibly die. Her mother found out after her father and brother died in a car crash. A truck drive fell asleep on the wheel because of an extra shift. And Madison would do the same routine over and over again until one day. New neighbors had moved in, and when they did she saw a boy named Olly, she looked at him and he looked back at her. So what she would do is find out each persons schedule and basically stalk them. And this new neighbor changed her life, encouraged her to take risks, let her find out the truth about her sickness, let her feel actual love. Madison Whittier wonders everyday what it's like to be outside. But she can never get that feeling, What if you've never been outside? How would you feel everyday? My favorite part in the book would be when Maddisons' home nurse Carla lets Olly come over for a visit, but no touching. They finally get to see each other face to face and not in email or on the phone. That's definitely a difference in Maddy's life. There are so many surprises and things I wish I could say but no spoilers. By the end of this book youll be like.."Wow, what did I just read" And to feel that experience try reading the book, hope you enjoy it!

Outsiders Connection to Another Article

Healing ‘Brick City’: A Newark Doctor returns home relates to The Outsiders in different ways. In both the article and the book they resemble heroism and lots of struggle, loss, and sacrifice.     “My past wasn’t always perfect. I grew up in a single-parent home with five siblings [in a] drug-infested community”. This relates to The Outsiders because, Johnny gave back to be apart of tomorrow. He risked his life in a burning church, to save children. He was a brave hero, and the the man gave back by also saving lives as a doctor, and his mother’s words of the wiser set him up for life to help his community.     “Through my mother’s way of handling life, she always made sure that I understood the need to give back.... She always said, ‘Once you make it, you have to come back and help other people.’ Too often, in Newark especially, I see so many professionals that do make it out — they don’t return. And I think that’s a crime in itself.... You have to have some soci...

My Identity

I have many things that define me. Not by just looks but by my culture and family and lifestyle. Of course I am black/African American. I have a long history of bad things and good things that has happened to my culture. My family is Christian and we love to go to church. Our family is actually known and for generations passed down to sing. We are very spiritual and when I'm over my mom's house we usually listen to gospel music. I am a brother of 2 and an uncle of 3. My brother and sister both have kids, Daylena and DaS'hown. And my brother has 1 child that is a girl; Shonti. And my sister has 2 boys, Joshua who turned four on september 18th and my other nephew Jordan who turned 1 year old in July 21st. My mom is a really great cook, but she inspired me to want to be a professional cook, I want to learn how to cook better than her. Even though I am only 13, I still have jobs like most 13 year olds have a job to be students. But I have my own jobs probably a lot of people...

Interesting Comparison From the Book to The Movie (The Outsiders)

There is always a difference between a book and the remake in a movie, just with the outsiders it has many similarities and differences. One similarity would be in both the movie and the book they would meet Cherry Valentine in the theatre. Another similarity is when johnny kills Cherry Valentine’s boyfriend, Bob, which plays a huge part in the story. Next the church caught on fire which, Dally, Ponyboy, and Johnny all saved kids. Second to last Johnny dies a few days later because of the fire and it sends a few people crazy. Lastly Darry also gets shot up by the police because he robbed a store, and pulled out his gun on purpose, he wanted to die because of his best friend Johnny, he didn't know what to do without him. The few similarities from the book to the movie, the big similarities.     Finally for the differences, there is always a difference no matter what, everybody makes mistakes. When Ponyboy goes to the theatre to get some popcorn with Cherry, in the book there...
