Slice of life

Me and my friends we have a club called recycling club and it’s every Monday, so I was getting a ride home and I had noticed something in my coat arm was bothering me. It took me a while to find out what it was and then when I did I found my Id was up my sleeve. Haha

My Favorite Book

This book is called “Solo” by Kwame Alexander with Mary Rand Hess. This book talks about how this boy named Blade Morrison, it was a family of rockstars. His father Rutherford was a drug addict, his little sister was storm. As the story continues he and his girlfriend have a problem, Chapel’s parents don’t like Blade because he is apart of the Morrison Family, but in actuality he’s not like his father. The book will show you what it means as the story progresses.  My favorite part is when Blade finally stands up to Chapel’s parents and confesses how much he loves her. This part truly shows that he’ll do anything to stay with Chapel. Another part is Blade’s mother had died when he was at a very young age which is devastating, and all of a sudden his whole life he’s been having these dreams about a black widow. Blade believes it represents his mother trying to send a message to him. Blade would have these weird dreams about a black widow. Blade is trying to find out, why are all of...

Independence

Independent I want to be more independent for my New Years resolution, because it’s hard for me to say no to someone or hard to be myself around other people. And it helps me find the real me and who I want to be instead of following what others do. This word connects to my life by helping me understand that, people can’t take control over you if you don’t let them. And it teaches my not to be as gullible and I become more bold and straight forward. This word means everything to me, it will help me get through in life and help me to find out what 8 want to be when I grow up. My first step to live this word is, whenever someone asks me to do something I don’t wanna do I’m gonna say no and that’s it, no excuses just no. Because if I continue letting people control me I won’t be able to do anything by myself. I’ll hold myself accountable by taking time to explore who I am and to take full control over myself overtime. This word connect to multiple areas of my life, one, because, yo...

If I Could Imagine

The Perfect Christmas I go over to my grandmothers house, lit decorations, great food. Games for us as a family to play, laughter, no argueing. Smelling the freshly baked cookies, cake, banana pudding. Watching the football/basketball game. And when it’s time for opening presents by the lit Christmas tree. Me getting lots of presents and games for Christmas, also money as a bonus. The smiles on everyone’s faces when they open up their presents. After presents we go around gloating about what we got and them getting jealous. At the end of it all, going to visit my mom for Christmas break and also getting presents over there, lots of fun and laughter over there too. And my mom is a great cook too, so i’d want some of her Christmas dinner. Then after I eat i’d get to play all the games I got for Christmas with my brother and my sister, more laughter. Then we’d all stop playing at 1 or 2 pm because when I’m over there we always stay up late having fun on breaks. Then i’d set my be...

I know, Minecraft...

This book I read it’s called Quest for the Golden Apple. It starts out with a character named Phoenix. Phoenix is a miner, she lives with a whole lot villagers and she doesn’t know that she’s a miner. One day she goes out to explore the outside world. She is forbidden from going outside of the village because there are dangerous things out there. She and her villager brother go outside the border, and something happens to her brother. Which takes Phoenix out to the quest of a golden apple. It’s a long journey home. And on the way she finds a wolf that she has tamed to help her on this journey. My favorite part of this book towards the end is when her and her friends fight this witch, it was interesting. I advise the readers to read this book, if you play minecraft —I don’t but I used to— you’d like this book. It’s also a graphic novel so it’s easy to read.

Outsiders Connection to Another Article

Healing ‘Brick City’: A Newark Doctor returns home relates to The Outsiders in different ways. In both the article and the book they resemble heroism and lots of struggle, loss, and sacrifice.     “My past wasn’t always perfect. I grew up in a single-parent home with five siblings [in a] drug-infested community”. This relates to The Outsiders because, Johnny gave back to be apart of tomorrow. He risked his life in a burning church, to save children. He was a brave hero, and the the man gave back by also saving lives as a doctor, and his mother’s words of the wiser set him up for life to help his community.     “Through my mother’s way of handling life, she always made sure that I understood the need to give back.... She always said, ‘Once you make it, you have to come back and help other people.’ Too often, in Newark especially, I see so many professionals that do make it out — they don’t return. And I think that’s a crime in itself.... You have to have some soci...

All American Boys Book Talk!

I just finished this book called All American Boys, It’s a novel created by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely. This book talks about something that happens in Chicago a lot and it’s a problem, this is a very relatable book and I can relate because it’s happened to me before but in a different way. All American Boys is about this boy named Rashad and this boy name Quinn and something really horrible happens to Rashad before a party and the person who did the horrible thing to Rashad is actually Quinn’s admirer and something between the two happens because Quinn can’t stop thinking or talking about Rashad because what the person did was very wrong of him. My favorite part of this book is when everyone cares about Rashad and everyone goes out of their way to support Rashad in this incident. And when Rashad finds out a lot about his dad that he never said before to anyone. Rashad is a nice boy, he would never do anything wrong, he is innocent and he never means to hurt anyone, h...
